Tick-borne encephalitis (TBE) is a viral infection known for causing severe neurological illness. While the primary mode of transmission is through the bite of an infected tick, there is also a risk associated with consuming unpasteurized dairy products from infected animals.
Ticks carrying the infection are predominantly found in rural areas, including forests, woods, grasslands, riverside meadows, marshes, brushwood, and scrublands in central, northern, and eastern Europe, Siberia, parts of Asia, and certain regions in the UK.
It’s important to note that the vaccine for Tick-Borne Encephalitis is not available through the NHS. Please verify its availability before making any arrangements.
